In 1952, Namchow Group started its business in soap production. After 63 years of endeavor and in pursuit of innovation, the company upheld the principles of the four related in "materials-related", "technology-related", "channel-related", and "culturally-related" to develop the diversified operation. Namchow developed a niche market and promote products around the world basic on the factories of Taiwan, Thailand, and China.

Namchow Group contains six manufacture businesses in Taiwan, including Home-products Business, Baking Oil Business, Frozen Dough Business, Ice Cream Business, Frozen Noodle Business, and Cooked Rice Business. In recent years, Namchow has extended business from food manufacture industry to catering services industry also operated different theme restaurants in Taiwan, such as Dian Shui Lou Chinese restaurant, Paulaner beer restaurant, Ben Chang Liu noodle shop, Chao Jiang Yan seafood restaurant, Kabisuo cafe and Thai food restaurant and so on.

Namchow Group developed global market planning in 1990, depending on China and Thailand manufacture bases. In the same year, Namchow established the factory in Ban-Pong, Thailand and produced Rice Crackers, Baby Rice Snacks, Cooked Rice, Instant Rice Porridge and Instant Noodles for the world-wide market.

In 1996, Namchow Group extended baking oil industry to China, and then set up the plant in Tianjin. The second plant was built in Guangzhou in 2007. The baking oil of Namchow are the leading brand in the middle-high-end market in China.

Namchow started to develop food and beverage industry in 1996. The first restaurant in Shanghai named Paulaner restaurant, a German-style beer garden restaurant. Later, the others theme restaurants were opened in Shanghai, such as Ambrosia restaurant, gourmet Japanese cuisine; the Binjiang One restaurant, a top European restaurant; Deli & Bakery, and great opened Dian Shui Lou restaurant in 2012.

Namchow was a public traded company and had stock listed since 1973.
