Following over 50 years of hard work, Cheng Loong Corp. has gone from being a corrugated paper box plant in Banciao with capital of 800,000 NTD, to its present stage of development as a company that has spread throughout the island, established footholds throughout Asia, and is currently moving towards the rest of the world. It has become an international paper manufacturing and services conglomerate. Established in 1959, Cheng Loong Corp. was previously known as Cheng Loong Box Plant. Currently, under the overall leadership and planning of the Banciao head office, the company has expanded in scale to reach every corner of Taiwan. It possesses 4 paper mills and 6 paper box plants. It has also established manufacturing and sales sites in China, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, the United States. With annual production capacity of 1.8 million metric tons in paper and paperboard as well as 1,752 million square meters in converting products, now CLC is the leading integrated industrial paper company in Greater China and is ranked Top 100 paper companies in the world.
Cheng Loong has invested great effort in the area of product research, introducing automated equipment, implementing rationalization and improvement of production processes and procedures, and improving management and service techniques. It was the first paper manufacturing company in Taiwan whose factories obtained ISO 9000 certification. It was also the first paper company to introduce steam and electricity co-generation equipment, in order to reduce energy expenditures. We have positively promoted the reduction of industrial waste, and our production process emphasizes reduced use of natural resources and clean production. We have increased the rate of use of recycled waste paper. We were also the first company in the domestic paper industry to obtain ISO 14001 and ISO 14064 certification, and starting from 1998, obtained environmental prizes for seven years. In 2004, we were also awarded with the first National Sustainable Development Achievement Award.
