Gene Research Lab Steps into Skin-Care Industry (Expbio Co., Ltd.)
Gene Research Lab is the first CRO (Contract Research Organization) in Taiwan that offers molecular and cellular biological technologies to manufacture Growth Factor (GF) , as well as to discover excellent means of preservation and effective skin-care formulae. Our research team further applies new knowledge from abroad and has released a control and evaluation system for new drugs' effects on the immune system, and an evaluation system for anti-lump, anti-aging and anti-allergy effects of new drugs. Also very popular are our stem-cell technologies: we have the quality-control and technological platform especially for cord blood blanks on stem-cell survival. Since we have in possession all the advanced technologies above, not only are we able to provide technological services to our local and foreign clientele-in fact, our clients currently include major medical and research institutions from both Taiwan and abroad. We have also offered assistance to a number of research institutions to complete numerous near-impossible assignments.
In addition, we have done extensive studies on the extraction of GF, and have developed skin-care products capable of solving problems of the human skin, such as aging, whitening, acnes, et al. It is our hope to start joint ventures with the skin-care industry and manufacture more products to care for our skins-or even applying the features of GF into cosmetics.
Expbio uses saccharomycetes to extract GF. Saccharomycetes are eukaryotic organisms, meaning that they have nuclei, are similar to human cells, and the GF it produces has a three-dimensional folding structure. Amongst all kinds of GF, ours is the liveliest in terms of its activity. It is also very safe and non-toxic, and thus more suitable to be applied in cosmetic medicine for it to be effective. We have named the GF extracted from saccharomycetes "VIFGEN" that comes from two words: "VIF", or "VIFF" in French, means "reverse"; "GEN" comes from the word "gene". So VIFGEN means "reverse the gene", and through giving GF the name "VIFGEN", it is our hope that it can revitalize the cells and restore our youth.
