Established in 2001, Modern Garden was formally established to promote the cultivation and use of Jabuticaba trees and fruit. Modern Garden Jabuticaba Co., Ltd. was the first company in Taiwan to cultivate and promote the grape-producing Jabuticaba tree. To aid in Taiwan's agricultural promotional development after the island joined the WTO, the agricultural industry decided to cater to the trend of new snack foods. As a result, Modern Garden established the biggest and most specialized Jabuticaba fruit farms in all of Taiwan and Southeast Asia. Modern Garden now owns over ten plantations designed to cultivate tress for thirty years at a time.

Modern Garden produces different kinds of saplings, mature trees, landscaping plants, and potted plants. These products are systematically exported and used, providing small trees and plants to create beautiful landscapes. Tens of thousands of Modern Garden trees have been exported to overseas markets, such as Japan, China, and Southeast Asia. In addition, Modern Garden produces fresh fruit, combined with an express delivery system to provide high quality products to various well-known hotels and restaurants in Taiwan. It is the only Taiwan supplier for its own product line. Because Modern Garden produces fifteen highly nutritional and tasty products, in 2003, Modern Garden established the National Food Development Co., Ltd. , adding an OEM-specialized food production factory to sell and promote different kinds of Modern Garden products.

Modern Garden success has regularly been reported in the local media, resulting in many recommendations for its products. Items have sold in major department stores such as Sogo, Far Eastern, Takashimaya, Shinkong Mitsukoshi, and The Living Mall. The company was also invited to participate in a great number of exhibitions and events, such as the 2003 Ilan Green Expo, the 2004 Taiwan Flower Expo, the 2004 Flower and Tree Associations*Tree and Stone Art Exhibition*, the 2004 Taipei International Food Show, and the 2005 Ilan Green Expo.

Modern Garden has established more than thirty chain stores in Taiwan. In addition, Modern Garden Jabuticaba juice is now being sold at a number of Chinese supermarkets in the United States. Plans include the development of new Jabuticaba products for introduction to the market.
