Alpha Integrated Collector Storage (ICS) Solar Hot Water Systems. The Alpha is unique in that it combines the storage tank and collector in one unit. There is no separate collector with small pipes to freeze or overheat and no interconnectors, valves and pipes to connect or leak. The system is 100% recyclable using ABS plastic for the outer case and acrylic sheet for the solar window. Internally, a 3mm low carbon steel tank is lined with a double layer of glass in a "Duoglaze" process in the state-of-the-art tank factory in Greece. The tank is suspended inside a parabolic reflector which concentrates solar energy onto the tank no matter where the sun is located in its arc. As there are no small pipes to overheat the water there is no need for a Pressure and Temperature Relief valve and the wastage of water that occurs when the system gets too hot and releases pressure by dumping water.
