The One Step Fecal Occult Blood Test is a simple direct bindingimmunoassay for the rapid, qualitative detection of human occultblood in feces. The assay is designed to detect lower levels ofcolorectal bleeding than other biochemical methods. The testprinciple is an immunochromatographic sandwich method, which employtwo specific monoclonal antibodies to selectively identifyhemoglobin in test samples. The result is very specific, and easierto interpret than those of guaiac-based test.
