Theadvantages of Protect Orthodontic Bracket Selfligating
1. Lower friction: ProtectIII self-ligating bracket adopts passive self-ligating slidingdesign, which effectively reduces the friction between brackets andarchwires. It constitutes a continuously low friction orthodonticforce system. Edges of slot are round and smooth, which avoidelastic binding and physical notching resistance(Figure 1). Therefore, teeth could move faster due to limitedfriction.

2. Innovative implicit hookdesign: Protect III self-ligating bracket boldly abandonsthe traditional long hook design and adopts innovatively implicithook approach instead (Figure 2). The new implicit hook completelycomplies with the need of intermaxillar and intramaxillarytractions (Figure 3), and is more convenient in the fine-tuningstage. Compared with the long hook, the implicit hook has someother advantages such as a more beautiful appearance, lessstimulation to gum and buccal tissue, etc.

7.Unique unlockingdirection: The unlocking directions of Protect IIIself-ligating bracket are toward the gum uniformly. This specialdesign makes the brackets lateral to the gum. Therefore, the heightof bracket tie wing on the maxilla or mandible side is lower, whichavoids collision between teethand bracket, so as to improve patient comfortableness andavoid bracket from removing accidently.
8. A clearer sign of the toothcode: A quadrant color code is marked clearly on thedistal tie wing of each bracket. An FDI tooth notation is engravedon each slide to facilitate bracketidentification.
