BlindRivets,  are tubular and are suppliedwith a mandrel through the center. It allows two ormore components to be joined 

together from one side of the application. The rivet assembly isinserted into a hole drilled through the parts to be joined anda

specially designed tool is used to draw the mandrel into the rivet.The blind end of the rivet expands and then the mandrel

snaps off.

Stainless steel rivets are produced from high-alloy steels andhave good corrosion resistance and high strength.  

The corrosion resistance, mechanical properties and coldformability of stainless steel part designs are all importantengineering considerations when selecting thesefasteners. This also determines the work hardening rate of thematerial during production and any additional cold working of thepart (clinching) in order to fasten it into yourassembly. 

300 series stainless steel parts offer better corrosionresistance and strength and are also more difficult toproduce.
