Winemaker''s note:
A company Chardonnay favorite, Los Alamos Vineyardsproduces some of our best Santa Barbara fruit. In the northern endof Santa Barbara county and situated in an east-west valley a fewmiles from the ocean, Los Alamos Vineyards gets cool sea breezesand fog at night and early morning, and warm temperatures bymid-day.
Our Santa Barbara County Chardonnay was picked alittle earlier than a lot of Chardonnay in the region to get theacidity and excellent citrus and honey flavors we think typifiesgreat Chardonnay. We wanted to keep as much of the fruit flavors aspossible so the wine has only received a little bit of malolaticfermentation and no oak. The wine has such a rich mouth feel wedidn''t think it was necessary to try and add anything to distractfrom the natural acid, fruit and round quality of the wine.
