Description:

The whelk  is amedium-sized gastropod
(6-9 cm). The shell has a globular structure with
siphonal canal long and slightly stepped profile and
angular, the color varies from yellow to brown.
It is a species commonly caught in the Mediterranean,
especially in the gulf of Thessaloniki in northernGreece.
