It is used for loading transformers, power generators,supply mains etc. neatly and efficiently. It can also be usedadvantageously for regulating current and adjusting voltage besidesits application for calibrating meters and thus eliminating theneed for graded rheostats.
CONSTRUCTION:
Loading Rheostats equipment consists of normal wire wound resistorsmade of constantant wire (nickel - copper alloy) having very lowtemperature co-efficient. The whole system is enclosed in a sturdygrilled metal box providing free cross ventilation on all sides forefficient cooling. On the front side controlling switches andregulators meant for various purposes are provided on a bakelitepanel. The box is fitted with four castor wheels suitable for easymovement from place to place in a laboratory. Switches sequencewill be minimum 6 and maximum 10 as per your requirements. SINGLEPHASE LOADING RHEOSTATS: SUITABLE FOR OPERATION ON 230V A.C. 50Hz.
