VIT provides our customers flexibleprinted circuit board(FPC) type membrane switches. On this kind ofproduct, the PET circuit layer replaced by the FPC. The FPC can besingle layer, double sided or multi-layers. But VIT suggests theFPC not over 4 layers. 

 

On the FPC type membrane switches, wealso can solder resistors, capacitors, triodes and other electroniccomponents on it. 

 

Sometimes the customers couldn'tprovide the Gerber file for the FPC circuit, then our engineers canhelp customer to design the Gerber file. 

 

The FPC circuit also can be assembledunder the rubber keypads. If FPC assembled under the rubber keypad,there will be two methods to make the conductive connection.One is by the carbon pills and the other one is by metaldomes;

 

When should we use FPC as membraneswitch`s circuit?

Sometimes, the membrane switch size issmall, but there are many buttons and LEDs, then by the single PETcircuit layer couldn`t place so many components, then can considerto use double sided FPC as the circuit layer. By the way, the FPCcircuit cost is higher than PET circuit, but it also has itsadvantages, for example, the FPC is more stable, tough. Especiallywhen should assemble many LEDs on the circuit, then use FPC, thequality and stability will be much better then PET circuit. Ofcourse, this depends on customer`s requirements and decisions. Ifthe customer no requirements, then we suggest use FPC as circuitonly when it couldn`t fulfill customer`s function by PETcircuit.
