C Series metal domes (tactilemetal domes, or metal snap domes) are round shaped switchcontacts that were designed for mounting on membrane circuitry.They are designed to be pushed past the flat plane by .005-.010"for optimal tactile feedback. The C-Series domes will not invertwhen pushed past the flat plane. Applications requiring a lowprofile switch under a membrane overlay are a perfect fit with ourC-Series metal domes. It can be used anywhere a momentary switchwith tactile feedback is required, while still achieving impressiveactuation life cycles.
The C-Series metal domes (round metal dome switches) areplaced on a membrane switch by means of pressure sensitive adhesivetape. In their relaxed state they rest on the outer rim of theprimary pathway. When they are pushed, the centers of the domescollapse past the flat plane and make contact with the secondarypathway, thereby closing the circuit.
The Circle metal Dome Family (No Dimple) is designedspecifically for membrane, switches & tactile feelingapplications, which is designed for over-travel applications. TheCircle metal Dome DF Family (Dimple) is designed specifically formounting on printed circuit boards. They can also allow differentapplications including membrane, switches & tactile feelingapplications.
