Performing a full two-portcalibration takes less than half the time and number of connectionsusing ECal versus mechanical cal kits. Furthermore, the accuracy ofthe calibration is comparable between electronic and mechanicalmethods. Traditional mechanical calibrations require intensiveoperator interaction, which is prone to errors. With ECal, theoperator simply connects the ECal module to the network analyzerand the software controls the rest.
ECal modules are transfer standards capable of transferring thefactory calibration accuracy to your network analyzer. The new85093C RF electronic calibration system is now easily controlled byone of two methods depending on the network analyzer. The AgilentPNA and ENA series of network analyzers controls the moduledirectly through a USB interface. The Agilent 8753E/ES/ET networkanalyzers require an 85097B interface kit to control themodule.
