Greatouch surfacecapacitive touch panel consists of multilayer coatings on a glasspanel. The layered structure is shown in figure 2. Transparentconductive coatings are coated on both sides of the glass panel.Specially designed electrodes are laid around the panel’s edge ontop of the front-side conductive coating to evenly distribute a lowvoltage across the front-side conductive coating, creating auniform electric field. The backside conductive coating is used forelectromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding. A hard coat layer islaid on top of the front-side conductive coating to provideprotection to the front-side conductive coating. The layeredstructure is optimized to provide extraordinary optical quality anddurability.

Touch Controller
Thecontroller measures the values of the current flow from the fourcorners and calculates the X, and Y coordinates of the touchlocation. The raw coordination data is further analyzed andcompensated to give the optimized linearity accuracy. Thecontroller utilizes its multi-point linearity compensation functionto compensate non-uniformity of the panel. Each panel is calibratedin factory. Its compensation data is stored in EEPROM of thecontroller in pair with the panel and is used for linearitycompensation. The compensated coordinates is then transmitted tothe host computer through RS232 or USB interfaces.

Capacitve TouchScreens & Integrated Touch Monitors are used for Public AccessKiosk, ATM applications etc.
