1. Check the tightening of connections.
2. Every month, it is recommended that the total voltage at thebattery terminals be measured.
3. once each year, it is recommended that the voltage of each cellin the battery should be read off.
4. A difference of plus or minus 2.0% between these individualvoltages and the average voltage may be
   observed. This is due to the gas- recombination process.
5. A check on capacity (independent operation on load) can beperformed once or twice per year.
6. Safety : When carrying out any work on the battery, theapplicable safety standards should be followed.
7. Note : it is recommended that a battery log be maintained , andthat records should be kept of the total voltage
   measurements, any mains failures, major battery discharges (currentand time) etc.
8. The main factors causing reduction in the life expectancy ofPeakpower CL Serie cells:
   1. Deep discharges
   2. Poor regulation on the float voltage
   3. Cycling or micro- cycling
   4. Poor quality (smoothing) of the charging current
   5. High ambient temperature.
