Extracts containing labiatic and carnosic acids haveantioxidant or food preservative properties similar to those ofbutylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT),but it must always be remembered that large quantities of rosemaryoil cannot be taken internally. The reason is that this may causestomach irritation and disorders and can also irritate the kidneysand intestines.
