Mica is a layered hydrous aluminum silicate mineral which contains silicon, aluminum, magnesium, potassium, lithium and other elements. Mica mineral has a large variety, commonly are muscovite [KAl2 [Si3AlO10] (OH, F) 2], phlogopite [KMg3 [Si3AlO10] (OH, F) 2], lepidolite [KLiFeAl [AiSi3O10] (F, OH) 2]. The most widely used is muscovite, followed by phlogopite. Usually said mica sheet and mica powder are made from muscovite.

Mica deposits are widely distributed, but quality divergence is quite large. Mica ore in Danba of Sichuang province and India are the best.
