Microsilica 1.InstructionMicrosilica ,also called silica fume or micro silica, is a byproduct ofproducing silicon metal or ferrosilicon alloys. Silicon metal andalloys are produced in electric furnaces. The raw materials arequartz, coal, and woodchips. The smoke that results from furnaceoperation is collected and sold as silica fume, rather than beingland filled.
