The vaccine is a lyophilized vaccine of Meningococcal capsularpolysaccharide antigen, via polysaccharide activation andderivatisation covalently bound to tetanus toxoid protein. TheMeningococcal capsular polysaccharide is obtained fromNeisseria meningitidis (Meningococcus) serogroup A andMeningococcus serogroup C. The conjugate is mixed at certainproportion then lyophilized with the proper stabilizer.
It is presented as a white loose pellet, after reconstitutedwith diluent, the vaccine is clear colorless liquid.

Infants and children at the age of 3 months to 5years
Function and use
This vaccine is indicated for prevention of infants and childrenagainst diseases caused by Meningococcal Group A, C, such ascerebrospinal meningitis and septicemia (generalinfection).
Dosage
Infants Age | Immunization schedule |
3-12 months | Should receive three doses, for 1 monthinterval. |
13-24 months | Follow recommended schedule of infants aged 3months to 12 months. |
2-5 years | Should receive one dose. |
Adverse reactions
Adverse reactions to this vaccine reported are fever, rash.Pain, mild redness, swelling may occur at the injection site, andusually resolved spontaneously.
Very rare systemic reactions are reported as headache,drowsiness, fatigue, dysphoria, gastrointestinaldiscomfort.
