The F connector is a coaxial RFconnector commonly used for "over the air" terrestrialtelevision, cabletelevision and universally for satellitetelevision and cable modems,usually with RG-6/U cable or, in olderinstallations, with RG-59/U cable. It wasinvented by Eric E. Winston in the early 1950s while working forJerroldElectronics on their development of cable television.
