Physical and Chemical Properties:

1,            Appearance: white or similar to white granular powder;odorless.

2,            Particle size: -100 mesh>98.5%; -80 mesh>100%.

3,            Carbonization temperature: 280-300°C.

4,            Apparent density: 0.25-0.70/cm³(usually about 0.5/cm³),specificdensity 1.26-1.31.

5,            Discolor temperature: 190-200°C.

6,            Surface tension: 2% water solution is 42-56dyn/cm.

7,            Solubility: soluble in water and some organic solvents, asappropriate proportion ethanol/water, propanol/water,trichloroethane etc. Solution is surfactant, transparent, andstable performance. Different specifications have differentgelation temperature. HPMC dissolved in water are not affected byPH value.

8,            HPMC with methoxyl content decreased, the gel point increased,water solubility decreased, surface activity also decreased.

9,            No heat, and was not involved in the metabolism of the humanbody.

Main use:

There are two grade in this product, industrial grade and pharmgrade. Industrial grade main used in building industry, likeretaining agent, retarder, adhesives, water preserving agent,film-forming agent, also used in ceramic industry as adhesives.Pharm grade HPMC is widely used as multi-purpose pharmaceuticalexcipients, can be used as thickener dispersant, emulsifier andfilm-forming agent etc. It’s also used in petroleum drilling anddaily-used chemicals.

Packing:

In 25kgs cardboard drum lined with PE or in woven bag with PPlining; stored indoors in dry and draughty palce; avoid rain andsunlight during transporting.
