Chemical Strengthening: The glass is covered by achemical solution which produces a higher mechanical resistance.Chemically-strengthened glass has similar properties tothermal-treated glass. The product is not generally used for windowglass, but more commonly seen in industries where thin, strongglass is needed. Features:
5 times more harder than ordinary annealed glass.
It can withstand a very wide range of repid temperaturechanging.
No tong marks on the glass as TC adopts the horizontallytempering process.
once breakage occurs, the glass disintegrates into small cubicalfragments which are relatively harmless to human body.
Applications:
Automobile, train, vessel, architecture, furniture, automaticdoor, escalator, fireplace, etc.
Laminated glass is a combination of twoor more glass sheets with one or more interlayers of plastic (PVB)or resin. In case of breakage, the interlayer holds the fragmentstogether and continues to provide resistance to the passage ofpersons or objects. This glass is particularly suitable where it isimportant to ensure the resistance of the whole sheet afterbreakage such as: shop-fronts, balconies, stair-railings, roofglazing.
Production There are two types of laminatedglass: PVB and resin laminated glass:
PVB laminated glass is two or more sheets of glass which arebonded together with one or more layers (PVB) under heat andpressure to form a single piece.
Resins laminated glass is manufactured by pouring liquid resininto the cavity between two sheets of glass which are held togetheruntil the resin cures.
Features:
Laminated glass is formed as s sandwich of 2 sheets of glassbonded to a tough and thermoplastic polyvinyl butyral (PVB)interlayer. It is also a safety material against destroy andtheft without frament splashing down when broken.
Applications:
Furniture
Architecture
Windows and skylights
Show windlows and showcases
Water tanks and observation windows of swimming pools
4--19mm tempered glass for buildings
