Adapting to a variety of media formats, the Pioneer CDJ 900 enablesplayback of MP3, AAC, WAV and AIFF audio files from CD / USB memorydevices. A USB port located conveniently on top of the turntableenables quick connection of an external storage device such as aTonium Pacemaker or a hard drive, minimizing the need to bring alaptop computer for performances.

The CDJ 900 turntable includes rekordbox: Pioneer’s proprietarymusic management software that can organise and catalog an entiremusic library. When music files are imported to rekordbox, thesoftware analyzes each file and prepares them for use specificallywith the CDJ turntable.

Key elements of Pioneer’s rekordbox software:

    Beats Per Minute (BPM) Data – BPM / Tempoinformation for each song is identified and processed intorekordbox for use by the DJ in preparing and performing a set.
    Waveform Data – The waveform of each song isidentified and then displayed on the bottom screen for quick datavisualisation.
    Tag Info & Artwork – Edit and customise thefile information to performance needs.
    Hot Cues, Cue Points, and Loops – Prepare andcustomise cues and loops as well as create and manage hot cuebanks.
    Playlists – Create, edit and manage customisedplaylists for various performances.
    Beatgrid – Utilising the new Quantising feature,cue points and loops can be set perfectly on-beat. The Quantisefeature ensures cue points are set accurately and automatically,correcting and syncing beats during manual looping or a real-timecueing, preventing off beat mistakes.


Users can transfer analysed music files to their preferred storagemedia and play them directly from the new CDJ turntable. Thesoftware offers song information that can be viewed easily duringlive performance on the CDJ’s large display to quickly search andaccess content by genre, title, BPM, etc. As analyzed tracks areplayed through the CDJ product, the turntable automatically createsand saves the play history enabling users to review pastperformances on their PCs or Mac.

Pro DJ link

The new turntables feature Pioneer’s Pro DJ link enabling anycombination of up to four CDJ2000 or 900s to be connected via thelink Port sharing a single music source, whether it is a harddrive, USB and / or SD memory card. once players are linked, usershave the ability to quickly find, display and choose the music filefrom any connected source through the CDJ’s built-in display andcontrol knobs. A quick turn of the knob lets users scroll throughcreated files and folders and a push of the knob confirms the songchoice.

Advanced Connectivity

The new turntable features a 24-bit/48 kHz sound card and HID andMIDI control compatibility via USB port. Up to 35 controls on thesurface of each player can be used to trigger other devices, suchas DJ effectors and software by way of HID and/or MIDI.

The HID controls were implemented into the player for superiorinterfacing with software, faster communication speed over MIDI,audio / visual streaming and two-way information on the display.HID enables easy, precise and native control of DVS systems such asSerato Scratch Live and Native Instruments’ Traktor series withoutthe need for any time-coded discs.

CDJ900 Enhancements

    Slip Mode – When activated, Slip Mode silentlycontinues song playback during a loop, reverse or scratch andcontinues audible playback at the exact time when the loop, reverseor scratch is ended creating smoother transitions.
    Advanced Auto Beat Loop – The CDJ900 generates afour-beat loop at a touch of a button creating a customized soundto provide more time for DJs to blend in transitioning music.


The Extras

For more accurate tempo control while mixing, the player isenhanced with increased frame increments of 0.5 frames that allowthe DJ to set a cue point or loop point with more precision.

To achieve the highest sound quality, the CDJ-900 was equipped withthe audio industry’s highly respected Wolfson DAC processor,delivering a very transparent, accurate audio signal resulting in ahighly improved signal-to-noise ratio and increased headroom.
