When selecting woven labels, the sewingapplication will depend mainly on the fold (or lack thereof). Beloware descriptions and charts describing the different types offolds. In some cases, your sewing contractor may charge a differentprice for one type of fold over another, that is, If you are notsewing these on yourself. This difference in price might playa role in your decision process.

 
TYPES OF FOLDS:

Straight cut -No fold. Straight cut labels are usually sewn on all 4 sides, thetop, or on left and right side only. There is No extra charge forthis type of fold.

Endfold Endfolded labels are folded down on the left and right side. Theyare applied the same way as straight cut labels, but have a softeredge. Sewing contractors may charge more for working with anendfold, so please consult with them before making your finaldecision. Cruz Label does not charge extra for thisfold.

Centerfold Centerfold labels are folded in the middle and usually sewn into aseam. Centerfold labels can also be used for sleeve and hem labels.Cruz Label does not add an extra charge for this fold, unless labelis oversized or very small before fold.

MiterFold  With miter fold labels, the ends arefolded under and up, creating a tab to be sewn into a seam. Thisfold does require an extra charge. Please contact one of our salesprofessionals to learn more about Woven Labelswith a miter fold.

ManhattanFold  Manhattan fold is just like a centerfoldlabel, except the top of the label is folded down, creating a flapto tuck the bottom fold into. This type of fold does requires anextra charge.

                                     


Woven Clothing Labels vs.PrintedLabels

Clothing Labels have two primary categories. The first is printedclothing labels. While generally inexpensive they have severaldisadvantages that make them an ideal choice for only a handful ofuses. The most basic complaint about a printed label is that theyfade. Whether it`s through washing or as a result of skin oilsreacting with the print, the fact is that a printed label does notstand up to standard wear. This reduces the branding aspect of thelabel completely. An illegible label does nothing for yourbusiness. The second choice is a woven label.

TheBetter Choice

Woven clothing labels are a better choice, but the choice to gowoven brings about other decisions. There are four basic fabricsoffered in woven labels: Damask, Semi-Damask, Taffeta, and Satin.Click on any of the fabric styles for a more complete descriptionof each fabric type.

Our labels are manufactured using huge looms. Our factory usesbroadlooms, needle looms, and even the double and single shuttlelooms to make the best possible clothing labels.
The clothing labels when they come off of the looms are in a ribbonlike form, and then they are then cut and sealed so the threads donot fray.

Then the clothing labels are folded if needed and sent topackaging.
