2. MANUFACTURE

 

Single SuperPhosphate is produced by reacting naturally occurring RockPhosphate with Sulphuric Acid. This process converts insolublephosphates into forms more readily available to plants.

ImpactFertilisers’ SSP manufacturing process uses blends of variousPhosphate Rock sources.

 

Critical steps inthe process include:

• Grinding thePhosphate Rock (PR) to the correct size

• Accuratelymetering the PR, Sulphuric Acid, and water

• Mixing togetherthoroughly

• Time for thereactions to occur

 

The reactedmaterial is fed into a granulation drum and across a screeningprocess to produce granulated Single Super Phosphate.

The Single SuperPhosphate is then stored for a period of weeks to allow furtherreactions to occur within the product to maximise the proportion ofavailable Phosphate in the commercial product.

The cured SingleSuper Phosphate is dried and screened prior to dispatch.

 

3. USES

Low cost sourceof P and S in a wide range of pasture and cropping situations. SSPis a traditional product for supplying P and S to pastures, themain two nutrients required for pasture production. Source of P inmixes with N and K for a range of crop and pasture needs. Generallymixed with Sulphate of Ammonia and Muriate of Potash, but can beblended with other fertilisers.

 

4. STORAGE AND HANDLING

 

SSP can be storedfor relatively long periods (0 - 6 months).

SSP does not takeup moisture from the air.

SSP can be usedin a wide range of spreading and sowing equipment.

 

5. RESTRICTIONS

 

Particles maydeteriorate in time so long-term storage (> 6 months) is notrecommended.

Do not mix withUrea, DAP or products with a low critical humidity as products willreact and become gluggy.

The portion offiner particles may cause problems such as blockages and unevenflow in some airseeders designed for high analysisproducts.

Do not store insilos.
