Characteristics
- A kind of cold work tool steel in widespread use, belonging toledeburitic steel of high-carbon and high-chromium.
- With quite good hardenability and abrasion resistance, butsmall quenching distortion.
- With not good impact toughness, be liable to fracture and forminhomogenous eutectic carbides.
Application
- Commonly used for manufacturing cold work moulds of excellentabrasion resistance with light shock loads, punch heads, coldcutting scissors, drill bushes, gauges, wire drawing dies, stampingdies, wire drawing sheets, drawing dies, thread rolling dies,etc.
- Making cutting tools which is used for machining material oflow hardness.
- Used as plastic mould with good abrasion resistance and longservice life.
