It may also be used as anintermediate for the production of other commercial flameretardants, such as tetrabromobisphenol A bis(2-hydroxyethylether), tetrabromobisphenol A dibromopropylether,tetrabromobisphenol A bis(allylether), tetrabromobisphenol Acarbonate oligomers, and tetrabromobisphenol A brominated epoxyoligomer. It may also be used as fire extinguishing media and as aplasticiser.
