DEscriptION AND USE

FM1001 is a primary filming amine designed to reduce corrosionin condensate systems.

The product establishes a protective barrier on metal surfaces,thus inhibiting the corrosive effects of oxygen and carbondioxide).

FM1001 is applied directly to the steam header for prevention ofreturn line corrosion due to

carbon dioxide and oxygen.

TREATMENT AND FEEDING REQUIREMENTS

Feed FM1001 continuously, directly to the steam header.

Normal feedrates are between 10 and 20 lb of product per millionpounds (1 and 2 kg per 100 tonnes) of steam.

Dilute the product to 5 to 20% with warm condensate at 140° to160°F (60° to 71°C). Do not use raw water or boiler water. Do notmix with other chemicals.

The feeding equipment should include: stainless steel tank;stainless steel agitator; stainless steel relief valve; ironpiping, valves and fittings; and a pump with machined steel or castiron liquid end and stainless steel trim. Filming amines should befed using an injection nozzle for vapor streams.
