What is proppant usedfor?

Ceramic proppant is theindispensable materials used in acid fracturing and hydraulicfracturing of new and existing natural gas and oil wells, which canincrease the output and extend the service life of oil & gaswells.

How does proppantwork?

In the fracturing process, theceramic proppants are mixed with a highly viscous fluid to formslurry. Then the slurry is pumped into stratum at a very highpressure which can crush hydrocarbon-bearing rock to createfracture. After flowback, proppants are left in the stratum throughwhich oil and gas reserves can flow more easily, thus increasingproduction rate and service life.

 Proppant can beclassified as followed:

1. By bulk density:

Light density, medium densityand high density.

2. By compressionstrength:

52MPa(7500psi),69MPa(10000psi), 86MPa(12500psi), 103MPa(15000psi).

3. Byspecifications:

6-12 mesh, 8-16 mesh, 12-18mesh, 12-20 mesh, 16-20 mesh, 16-30 mesh, 20-40 mesh, 30-50 mesh,30-60 mesh, 40-60 mesh, 40-70 mesh, 70-140 mesh, etc.
