Sodium alginate,also called asAlgin, is a kind of white or light yellow granular or powder,almost odorless and tasteless. It is a macromolecular compound withhigh viscosity, and a typical hydrophilic colloids. Because of itsproperties of stability, thickening and emulsifying, hydratabilityand gelling property, it is widely used in food, pharmaceutical,printing and dyeing, etc.
        

          Inprinting and dyeing industry, sodium alginate is used as activedyestuff, which is superior than grain starch and other pasts.Using sodium alginate as the printing paste would not affect thereactive dyes and dyeing process, at the same time it can get abrilliant and bright colors and good sharpness, with high coloryield and uniformity. It is not only suitable for cotton printing,but also for wool, silk, synthetic printing, particularlyapplicable to the preparation of dyeing printing paste. Inaddition, it can also be used as warp sizing, not only saving alarge amount of grain, but also making the warp fibers withoutraising, and with friction resistance, low breakage rate, therebyenhancing the efficiency of weaving, effective for cotton fibersand synthetic fibers.

 

In addition, sodium alginate can also be used in papermaking,chemical, casting, welding electrode sheath material, fish andshrimp bait, fruit tree pest control agent, release agent forconcrete, water treatment with high agglutination settlement agentetc.
