C18150 Chromium Zirconium CopperCuCr1Zr – UNS.C18150 Chromium Zirconium Copper C18150is an excellent and unique copper alloy with high electricalconductivity, hardness, and ductility, moderate strength, andexcellent resistance to softening at elevated temperatures. Theaddition of 0.1% zirconium (Zr) and 1.0% chromium (Cr) to copperresults in a heat treatable alloy which may be solution treated andsubsequently aged to produce these desirable properties. Rodis usually supplied from the mill in the fully aged and drawncondition so no further heat treatment is required by thefabricator. The softening temperature of properly heattreated C18150 rod exceeds 500°C as compared to unalloyed purecopper which softens at 200°C, and silver bearing coppers whichsoften at 350°C.Furthermore, many evidences shows that C18150 can provide lesssticking and resisting deformation longer than its C18200counterpart in some specific situatons.Typical Application for C18150 Chromium ZirconiumCopper Alloys:Electrical Industry: Resistance WeldingElectrodes, Circuit Breaker Switches
