Magnetic Cards |
A Magnetic Card is the most cost-effective way of associating amember with our system. Most customers choose to have a batch ofgeneric cards pre-printed with their own artwork and a uniquebarcode number range. These cards are then assigned to a new memberstraight out the box, as soon as they join.
Magnetic encoding:
Your plastic card's magnetic stripe may not work properly if it is not encoded within the parameters of the Point of Sale system the cards are intended to work with. This information is available from the Point of Sale provider.
Encoding: Thereare three tracks in magnetic stripe.
Track 1 and 2 are readable-only tracks, the informationrecorded in track 1 and 2 can only be read, but notre-writable, or modifiable.
Track 3 is both readable and writable.
Track 1 can record both numbers and characters, while track2 and 3 can only record numbers.
