TCDTO-1 reformate refined catalyst is the highefficient refinedcatalyst designed by CNOOC Tianjin Chemical Research and Design Institute for removing olefin which is produced in reformateoil decvice,TCDTO-1 refined catalyst,called TCDTO-1 reformate refinedcatalyst. It isthe main replacement of activated clay employed inthe pre-treatment equipments of PX process to remove theolefins from C8+ mixedaromatics. It is featured as wide operating temperature range, long life cycle andrepeatedregeneration capability.

1). Main advantages of TCDTO-1 Reformate Refined Catalyst

2.1 What isTCDTO-1 RefinedCatalyst Appliance Principle?
Thecore active componentof TCDTO-1is molecularsieve. As with activatedclay, molecular sieves refined catalyst alsoadsorb the olefins with stronggerpolarity in reforming aromaticsthrough porous material, so as to achievethe purpose of refining. However,molecular sieves have a longer operation cycle life than claydue to higher acid content, better acid distribution,and stronger and more stable acidity ; , meanwhile,due to their uniquenature, sieves can be repeatedlyregenerated.

2.3 Where are TCDTO-1Refined Catalyst Applied ?
TCDTO-1is developed for PX frontpurification device, currently applicableto C8+ above feedrefining process in the reforming towerbottom. Olefin
andcolloidcontent in feed have agreat
effect on single cycle life of refinedcatalyst. Its applicable feedindicators

2.4 TCDTO-1Refined Catalyst operatingConditions
AccordingtoTCDTO-1 catalystrefining principle, temperature rising and pressureincreasing benefit the operation, but ingeneralTCDTO-1 catalyst become active at130℃, in order toextend the life of refinedcatalyst, operate at low temperatureinitially. Operating pressurerequirements are similar to clay, butensure the feed is in the liquid state,therefore the reaction pressure should beadjusted according to the catalystoperating temperature. The refiningprocess recommends operating conditionsto be at the maximum pressure the deviceallows, under high pressure, the singlecycle life of the refined catalystcan be appropriately extended.

According topreliminary tests,deactivated refined catalyst can be reused afterregeneration, with no significantdecline in activity afterregeneration, at the same time, accordingto the changes of physicalindicators, we suggest that the frequencyof regeneration can be more than 3times.
3).Successful Cases :
3.1 TCDTO-1 refinedcatalyst has achievedindustrial applications in the 1 milliontons/ year PX devices ofCNOOC Huizhou Refinery sinceNovember 2011, and has so far beenrunning
at low temperature. With conditions offeed Bromine index above 600 ~ 1900mgBr/100g (an average of about 1200 mgBr/100g),refined catalyst outlet Bromine Index is≤ 20 mgBr/100g, xylenere-distillation tower top BromineIndex shows ≤ 1.0mgBr /100g, other outletindicators are basically the same as activatedclay.
