Mini MDI (Multiple DiagnosticInterface) for wireless ECU reprogramming utilizing J2534.Hardware kit only.
TheGM Mini MDI is initially being introduced with Pass-Thruprogrammingcapabilities only. It can be used to perform Pass-Thruprogramming onall vehicles built since 1993 and will support allvehicles into thefuture.The GM Mini MDI will be required to performdiagnostics onselected NAO vehicles for model year 2009. Diagnosticsoft-ware isscheduled to be released for the GM Mini MDI during thefourth quarterof 2008.When diagnostics are introduced, the MDI willalso get a remotedata record capability. This permits recordingdata duringa road test,similar to the Tech 2 Snap Shot function. Atrigger switch connector isprovided for this purpose. Regulationsrequire programming procedures tobe compliant with SAE RecommendedPractice J2534. The GM SPS iscom-pliant with SAE RecommendedPractice J2534, and the GM Mini MDI iscompliant with the portionsof SAE J2534 that are applicable for GMvehicles
