Part of carbide grades as follows:

Grade - K05 Application - hard cast iron, plastic, porcelain, fiber, cutting with small chip sections

Grade - K10Application - grey cast iron over HB 220, cutting with medium or small chip sections

Grade - K20 Application - grey cast iron below HB 220, wood, non-ferrous metals, turning with medium or large chip sections

Grade - K30Application - low hardness cast iron, wood, non-ferrous metals, turning with large chip sections

Grade - K40 Application - powder compacting dies, wire (pipe) drawing dies, heavy interrupted cutting and high feed rate turning

Grade - K50 Application - deep drawing dies, punching dies, mining tools, extra heavy duty turning tools.
