I. Product Introduction
The KFI-3CPT Fault Indicator can be mounted in the Switching Station, RMU, Box Type Transformer, Cable Junction Enclosure, Switchgear etc. KFI-3CPT Fault Indicator contains one Indicator Device, one Earthing Fault Sensor and three Short Circuit Fault Sensors. Indicator Device is mounted in the control panel of the equipment. The Earthing Fault Sensor is installed around the three-core cable and the three Short Circuit Fault Sensors are separately installed on the 3 phases of the cable. The Indicator Device and Sensors are separately connected with an optical fiber to realize isolate from the high voltage line, which ensured safe.
In case of short circuit fault or earthing fault occur, the short circuit or earthing circuit alarm lamp of the indicators between the front part of the Fault Section and the Substation will always being on accordingly and the fault information can be sent to the control center by the online monitor system. Then the control center software will analysis and show the fault information automatically. The information includes fault place, fault type and fault time, etc. Workers will find the fault point quickly according to the information which is showed on the indicator or on the monitor interface.
This product provided the best way to solve the problem on how to check out the Fault Section. It has a very important significance in improving the working efficiency, shortening the outage time, speeding up the power restoration, improving the power distribution reliability and economic benefits.

III. Main Functions
1. Short-Circuit Alarm Indication
The function of the Short-Circuit Sensor is checking the line current. In case of short circuit fault occur and the line current reaches to or over the alarm current value, the Short-Circuit Sensor will sent the alarm signal to the indicator by the optical fiber and the indicator will sent the alarm indicating signal accordingly.
2. Earthing Fault Alarm Indication
The function of the Earthing Fault Sensor is checking the line zero sequence current. In case of earthing fault occur and the current reaches to or over the alarm current value, the Earthing Fault Sensor will sent the alarm signal to the indicator by the optical fiber and the indicator will sent the alarm indicating signal accordingly.
3. Automatic /Manual Reset
When the sensors detect out the earthing fault or short circuit fault, the alarm lamps will always be on accordingly and there are two kinds of reset style: 1) When reach to the reset time (according to customer's requirement ), the indicator will reset. 2) During the fault time, push the "Test /Reset" button and the indicator will reset.
