On older car kits you connect your product and use the switch on the side to choose one of the four preset FM frequencies to transmit your music on. The problem with this is that on occasions, especially in areas of poor reception, your car radio may not be able to pick up a crystal clear signal on any of these four presets! The 5 in 1, however, offers you the benefit of being able to choose any frequency between 87.5 and 108.0 MHz.
