Sepiolite can be used in friction product(brake pad), sealing products(nonasbestos jointing sheet), engineering plastic and cement ect. Its main chemical composition is Si and Mg. The melting point of sepiolite can reach to 1750º C. Sepiolite fiber has wonderful adsorbability so that it can mix with other materials easily. Also sepiolite fiber has wonderful dispersity, so it can disperse in phenolic resin(be friction materials)or rubber(be sealing materials). And sepiolite fiber has good insulativity, plasticity and can dissolve in hydrochloric acid.
