Periodically poled lithium niobate(MGO: PPLN) is a new nonlinear optical crystal. Using electric field poling fabricated periodic domain structure, it can realize high efferency frequency conversion of frequency doubling, sum frequency and optical (QPM) technique. PPLN(adding 5 mol% MGO) has the features of high optical damage threshold, large photorefractive threshold and stable performance which can be used at room temperature. Comparing with LBO and KTP, MGO: PPLN has many advantages such as high non-linear coefficient, smaller size, shorter manufactured cycle and easier batch manufacture.
