Common magnesia brick is made from common magnesite clinker, after crushing, mixing and shaping, fired under the temperature at 1550-1600. The firing temperature of high quality magnesia brick is above 1750. HMZ-98-2 is made from HMS98 clinker, C/S≥ 2.0, with reasonable micro structure. It has high refractoriness, good corrosion resistance to basic slag and superior refractoriness under load. Magnesia brick is mainly applied in open-hearth basic steel making furnace, bottom of EAF and permanent lining of oxygen converter.
