Salt water is a hostile environment for the submerged metal support on offshore platforms. XCTAT is able to offer a full line of large cast aluminum anodes to defend against this corrosion.

XCTAT-ALUM anode produces an open circuit voltage -1.17- -1.25 V (with respect to Cu/CuSO4 reference electrode), and delivers a current output of 1186 amp. Hrs/lb in salt water. The composition contains nominal additions of indium, silicon, zinc, which help to guard against the build-up of pacifying films around the anode, especially important in saline mud and brackish water.
