When turn on the switch to DC, the lamp will be lighting with accumulator inside, both charge and discharge, the discharge current is greater than charge current at the moment. When the light becomes dark, the switch should be turned off, and it's on charge.

When turn on the switch to AC, there is an emergency function, the lamp wont light when the AC through, but the indicator lamp will light meanwhile, when the power cut, the lamp will light automatically.

When the AC through the energy saving lamp, which ever the switch is turned to, it is on charge automatically and the interior circuit use the protection of battery over charge.
