The GB5-A series is a low cost visible light sensor, being RoHS compliant and complete CdS replaceable (same through-hole shape, electrically and optically). Its unique feature with integrated optical filter for high IR rejection makes it standout among many other photo ICs, besides output current is highly linear VS light level over a wide range of conditions (in average at 6000 Lux).
The output current can be converted to a voltage by connecting it in series with a resistor. The internal dark current cancellation enables high accuracy over full temperature range, even at low light levels. It has integrated high gain photo-current amplifier and the spectral response is close to human eye or "photopic".
