metal spiral wound gasket with graphite or PTFE filler, with inner ring
The gasket comprises a spirally-wound beaded metal band ( Standard: 316L; other materials possible ) in which a non-metallic band ( graphite or PTFE ) overlaying on both sides is inserted between the individual spirals of the metal band. The inner ring serves to increase radial stability. It is used in flanges with male/female faces in the petrochemical industry, for problem applications and in the high-pressure sector.
