T-seals, Tee-seals

T-seals can be used as a substitute for O-ring in reciprocating or static applications. The cross-section of the seal resembles a "T". The basic T section of the T-seal is an elastomer which performs the sealing function while the sides of the T-seal are filled up by a pair of backup rings.
