Parallel index drive is double cam mechanisms having complementary profiles that transform a uniform rotary input motion into a smooth indexing output motion.It feature two plate cams mounted as a conjugate pair. The follower wheel has one cam follower above and another below the center line of the input, producing a pre-loaded locking action. Parallel indexers are capable of producing large output displacements and low number of stops.
