Generally in hydraulic systems, both of the two shaft axes should be aligned to perfection in cases of motor-pump power transport or whenever motor power is transported elsewhere. In cases of axial or angular misalignments that could develop in time, the motor or the driven components will not suffer if the connection is in the elastic crutch mode. 
The clutch consists of two steel gears installed on the driver and driven shafts along with the POLYAMIDE component that connects these two. The plastic element fragments into pieces and acts as a fuse in the event of overloading.
