What is Tea Saponin?

It is a natural non-ionic surfactant. Tea Saponin is glycosides, bitter, spicy, can stimulate the mucous membranes in the nose to make people sneeze. The pure tea saponin is white crystal, easy to absorb moisture; it shows obvious acid property to Methyl red, hard to dissolve in the pure Methyl alcohol, doesn’t dissolve in ether, acetone, benzene organic solvent, easy to dissolve in diluted methyl alcohol, diluted ethyl alcohol and Glacial acetic acid, etc. Add Hydrochloric acid to dissolved tea saponin, tea saponin will precipitate. The Melting point of Tea Saponin is 224°C. Tea Saponin is proved to have functions of diminishing inflammation, easing pain, anti-wheeping and etc. The light yellow fine powder is widely used in the production of cleansing agents, wool, knitwear, medicine and commodities.
