Guar is an annual summer legume grown in India. It is often used as forage for cattle and as a vegetable consumption. It is mostly grown in arid, unirrigated areas as the crop depends on only one or two rainfalls and does not require much fertilizer to grow. The Guar Seed consists of three parts: The gram, the endosperm, and the husk. It is from the endosperm that Guar Gum is derived.
